Manchester Council Approves Fire Dept. Equipment Purchase

NORTH MANCHESTER - The North Manchester Town Council approved the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatuses, or SCBAs, for the North Manchester Fire Department at Wednesday night's meeting.
A quote for 10 SCBAs, including 20 cylinders, one for each apparatus plus one spare, was approved from Hoosier Fire Equipment Inc. at $106,667.50.
The council also reviewed ordinances on anti-discrimination for employees, residents and visitors, adding ADA-accessible parking at Manchester University and building code revisions for the town.
Street closing requests for Manchester Alive 2023 festivals and events were approved.
Paul Ehler, of Michael Kinder and Sons Inc., said the new estimated completion date for the Mill Street Pavilion project is April 14.
There was a town docket of $507,330.36 and a utilities docket of $225,459.95.
