Manchester Council Approves Community Funding

NORTH MANCHESTER – At Wednesday night’s virtual meeting, the North Manchester Town Council approved requests for funding and held a public hearing to finalize the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Business Relief Grant.

In old business, funding requests from the Learn More and Manchester Early Learning Centers were revisited. The council voted to award $6,150 to the Learn More Center and $25,000 to the Manchester Early Learning Center.

In new business, members finalized the $250,000 OCRA Business Relief Grant with a public hearing. There was no public comment.

The 2021 Jones and Henry Engineering service contract was approved. The street department submitted a request to replace the town’s 19-year-old wood chipper. The council voted to purchase a new wood chipper for approximately $15,000.

Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford reported a town docket of $422,902.32 and a utilities docket of $201,669.59.

The council will next meet at 5 p.m. April 7. A decision has not yet been made on whether the meeting will be held in person or on Zoom.
