NORTH MANCHESTER - The North Manchester Police Department has made arrests in four cases of burglary that occurred in December.
The department had investigated four burglaries and residential entries just before Christmas. On Dec. 26, Officer Jon Pace was able to locate some of the items that were taken, according to the department's monthly town council report.
During the council's first regular meeting of 2011 Wednesday night, Town Marshal Jeffrey Perry told the board that arrests have been made in all four cases, and most of the items that were taken have been recovered.
In other business:
n The board voted to retain Chris Garber as president in 2011.
n The board approved a bid for the demolition of the former North Manchester Community Pool Complex. Demolition will begin as early as next week.
- The Parks and Recreation Department is currently planning its spring programs.
An event for children has been planned for Jan. 17. Manchester Community Schools will not be in session that day in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The event has been designed to give kids something to do on their day off.
Movies, crafts and games will be available for the kids, and first- through sixth-graders are welcome. The event will be held at the Town Life Center in North Manchester from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Families must register their children by Jan. 13, and the cost is $5.

Curbside pick-up for Christmas trees will take place Monday and Tuesday.
The next regular meeting has been pushed from Feb. 2 to Feb. 9.
