NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester Church of the Brethren Senior High Youth will present the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” Nov. 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Both performances will be preceded by a dessert buffet at 6 p.m.
The musical is the Biblical story of Joseph as it unfolds in the book of Genesis.
The story is filled with resentment and betrayal by Joseph’s brothers who sell him into slavery. The story moves toward reunion and reconciliation following hardship, desperation and acts of forgiveness.
The lyrics were written by Tim Rice with the music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is presented through an exclusive arrangement with R&H Theatricals, New York, N.Y.
The youth in the production are Derek Self, Anthony Beery Bennett, Abby Lynn, Thomas Naragon, Kristin Pittman, Lennart Simon, Rainer Borgmann, Raegan Byers, Connor Eichenauer, David Fahs Brown, Matthew Fahs Brown, Lucas Schilling and Zach Shenefield.
A 14-voice children’s choir from the church is also a part of this performance.
Providing the musical instrumentation are Sharon Lehman, Josh Faudree and David Sollenberger.
This is the 24th consecutive year of musicals presented by the youth of the Manchester Church of the Brethren.
Admission is a freewill donation.
No tickets or reservations are necessary.
Donations will be used toward the cost of the musical and the youth’s summer trip to El Salvador to connect with the congregation’s sister church.
