Brian Lamar Richardson, 30, of 205 W. Washington St., Syracuse, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of escape. His initial bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
Court documents filed Dec. 20 list the charge against him as failure to return to lawful detention, a level 6 felony.
Richardson was convicted of possession of a syringe on Oct. 25 in Kosciusko County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to Kosciusko County Work Release Center with a projected release date of April 11.
On Dec. 15, Richardson checked out of the work release center and went to work. He failed to return to the work release center as ordered by the courts.
Richardson’s employer told an officer that Richardson quit his job at 11:15 a.m. Dec. 15 and left the facility.
