Posted
A Warsaw man turned himself in about 14 hours after a bar fight landed another man in the hospital.
Garrett Joe Swanson, 28, of 1951 E. Wade Road, Warsaw, turned himself into Kosciusko County Jail and was booked in on a charge of aggravated battery.
Swanson, who police earlier refered to simply as Joe Swanson in a press release, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Police said they witnessed Swanson strike Nicholas S. Phillips, 28, in the head outside a Warsaw bar.
Police didn’t say what precipitated the altercation.
Phillips was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne where as of this morning he was in fair condition.
Police said Swanson left the scene of the fight but then later called an officer on the scene but refused to return.
The charge on Swanson was issued through the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
