A 30-year-old man staying at the Economy Inn told police early today that he was robbed of his money at gunpoint.
Warsaw police were called to the motel at 12:44 a.m. today, where the man walked after the incident.
The victim told police he was walking from Wal-Mart to the Economy Inn and was near the Marathon gas station when he heard someone shout at him. When he looked toward the voice, the passenger in a nearby car allegedly pointed a black handgun at him and demanded his money.
The man reportedly handed over $248 to the men in the car and the late 1980s Chevrolet Camaro then left the area eastbound on U.S. 30. The passenger is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, with blond hair. He was reportedly wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. The victim was unable to provide a description of the driver of the car.
