A Tippecanoe man was accidentally shot Wednesday evening, according to a report at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
Around 7:43 p.m. Wednesday, Aaron M. Fear, 29, of 17B Road, Tippecanoe, reported that he and a friend were somewhere in Kosciusko County looking at pit bull puppies.
While at the property, which wasn't listed in the report as Fear couldn't recall the address, the owner was firing a handgun away from where Fear and a friend were.
At some point, the owner, whose name Fear couldn't provide, had his handgun jam. While trying clear it, it fired, striking Fear in the hand.
Fear was eventually taken to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand.
A physician at KCH told police that the gunshot wound did appear to be accidental.
