Man Held In Throat-Slitting Case

SYRACUSE - One man is in jail and another is being sought after a Syracuse man's throat was cut Saturday.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded at 5:48 a.m. to a call of a man with his throat cut at 9874 E. Circle Drive South, Syracuse.

Michael A. Garman, 24, advised he was sleeping in the residence and woke up to his throat being cut. Garman stated he knew the two men who assaulted him.Jason Michael Thorn, 23, of 4928 N. CR 375E, Warsaw, is being held in connection with the incident. Thorn hasn't been charged with assaulting Garman, but is being held without bond by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.

Another suspect connected with the incident is still being sought by law enforcement.

A vehicle parked in front of Garman's residence, not belonging to Garman, had several items from Garman's home in the back seat.

Garman's girlfriend, Angela Williams, stated that she and Garman were asleep when they awoke to find Thorn and the other suspect standing in their bedroom.

After the two men fled, Williams went to check on a baby in the home. The baby was unharmed.

Garman's wallet was found by police outside the residence.

Thorn contacted police later that morning. After being questioned by detectives, he was booked into Kosciusko County Jail.

Garman was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was treated and released.
