Charges may be filed against a Warsaw man involved in a May 30 one-car accident.

At 11:55 p.m. May 30, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies found a Chevy Cavalier, driven by Jonathon D. Canterbury, 21, Warsaw, near the intersection of CRs 450E and 100S.The vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on CR 100S approaching CR 450E when it lost control.

Three females in the car were all injured. Christy Anglano, 18, and Adrienne Anderson, 17, both of Pierceton, were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Tistan Schultz, 22, Pierceton, was airlifted by Samaritan and flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, in critical condition.

At the scene, Canterbury told Lt. Chris McKeand that a Hispanic male took the car with the three women in the car and that Canterbury just jumped into the vehicle.

McKeand noticed an injury to Canterbury's hand, and when he asked Canterbury about the injury, he claimed he received it from work.

According to a police report, McKeand detected an odor of alcohol on Canterbury.

Canterbury took a portable breath test and blew a .06 one hour after the crash.

Anderson made a statement to police stating the car wasn't stolen and, in fact, Canterbury was driving.

Anderson stated that Canterbury asked her to tell the story about the Hispanic male taking the vehicle and crashing it.

Anglano at first claimed the unidentified Hispanic male took the vehicle, but then admitted that Canterbury was the driver.

After being confronted with both statements, Canterbury admitted to being the driver.

A drug and alcohol screen of Canterbury showed a blood alcohol content of .03 and no narcotics in his system.

A request for warrants for reckless driving and false informing have been sent to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.

As of this morning, no charges have been filed.
