Posted
PIERCETON – Kosciusko County Sheriff'’s Department deputies were contacted by Whitley County Sheriff's Department deputies Monday at 9:30 p.m. to help assist in the execution of an active arrest warrant for Jeremiah Smith.

Whitley and Kosciusko deputies, along with two Indiana State Police troopers from the Fort Wayne District, surrounded the mobile home trailer at lot 24, Regency Estates, east of Pierceton, along U.S. 30.

Officers attempted to knock on the doors of the residence several times with no response. Officers then noticed individuals moving inside through windows and again advised the subjects to open the door.  After the residents did not comply, Whitley County deputies obtained a search warrant, and again used their squad car public address system to advise the occupants to open the door to the residence.

With no response, Whitley deputies then gained entry with the assistance of ISP into the mobile home trailer.

Officers located two females inside the residence, along with Jeremiah Smith, hiding in a rear bedroom. Smith was taken into custody without incident and arrested on the original Whitley County warrant for possession of stolen property.

No further information was provided.
