A man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill a woman and her children.
Jason Craig Barclay, 35, homeless, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony; and false informing, a class B misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 2:07 a.m. Friday on a $5,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Friday Kosciusko County Dispatch received a call for a welfare check because a man, later identified as Barclay, was yelling at a woman at a gas station.
A Pierceton Police Department officer and a Winona Lake Police Department officer responded to the scene. The officers spoke with Barclay, who said he didn’t have his identification on him. Barclay also gave multiple spellings of his name to officers. A North Webster Police Department officer arrived on scene and saw an outline of a wallet in Barclay’s front pocket. In the wallet, officers located Barclay’s Michigan driver’s license.
An officer spoke with the woman who said she drove Barclay to the gas station to remove him from her residence because he threatened to kill her and her children.
