Man Arrested After Allegedly Making ThreatsA Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly saying he’d go to an apartment and shoot up the place.
Miguel Raymond Castro, 30, of 501 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, is charged with intimidation, a Level 6 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on a $5,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 16 a domestic complaint was made. A law enforcement officer arrived on scene and spoke with a woman. The woman said she was asked to check on a second woman as a third woman heard the second woman and Castro fighting while on a video call.
The first woman said she arrived at the apartment and noticed the second woman’s vehicle was missing and the apartment door was open. The first woman said the second woman and Castro had problems in the past and Castro recently got out of prison.
The third woman arrived on scene and stated she received a call from the second woman. The third woman asked if everything was OK and the second woman said yes. Shortly after hanging up, the third woman got a video chat where the screen was black. The third woman heard Castro screaming in the background, breaking things in the apartment and heard him threaten the second woman.
The third woman yelled to get Castro’s attention and he told her not to contact law enforcement and to drive to the apartment he was at. Castro said they would not be at the apartment if the police were called.
The third woman handed the phone to a man. The man heard through the phone Castro allegedly say he was going to the third woman’s and the man’s residence to shoot up the place and kill everyone there.
The third woman said Castro allegedly owned a firearm and the second woman would not go with Castro on her own. Law enforcement officers said the second woman would defend Castro if they were found together because she was allegedly afraid of him.
The man said Castro allegedly told him Castro and his “SR13 brothers” were going to drive to the man’s house and “shoot it up.” The man told Castro his address, he would be waiting for him and would in fact drive down to meet him.
Law enforcement received information the second woman’s vehicle was northbound on CR 100E. Officers responded and were told Castro took off running toward a gray trailer. Officers were unable to find Castro at that time.
A Warsaw Police Department officer arrived on scene and talked to the second woman who said she went with Castro willing and she was not a victim. The second woman said she was on Facetime with the third woman and Castro allegedly said something he should not have said, but she didn’t elaborate.
