Maida Garnet Gillette, 101, of Winona Lake, died at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 11, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born March 14, 1906, in Hartford City, to Thomas and Anna Inman Anguish. She married Willard Church, who died in 1987. She later married John Gillette, who died Feb. 14, 1982.

She lived at Chapman Lake for 50 years before moving to Winona Lake five years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, for 52-1/2 years; Lake Lovers Club; Hartford City Order of the Eastern Star; and Magazine Club.

Surviving are a son, Walter (and spouse Connie) Church, Warsaw; and adopted daughter, Patricia "Patty" (and spouse Herman) Edwards, Kansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Farling, Hartford City. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Clark, Eva Kerby and Lee Love; a brother, Alvin Anguish; and a son, Thomas W. Church, who died Nov. 24, 1999.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Andy Martin, of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Mock Cemetery, North Webster.
