SYRACUSE – Sally Mahnken, a local stained glass artist, has been selected to exhibit her art at the 57th Annual CBIZ Penrod Art Festival on the Newfields campus of the Indianapolis Museum of Art on Sept. 6.
The Penrod Art Festival is known as “Indiana’s Nicest Day” and is one of the nation’s largest one-day art festivals with more than 350 exhibiting artists, according to a news release from Chautauqua-Wawasee.
Locally, Mahnken displays her stained glass art at the Winona Lake Fine Arts Show and is a regular exhibitor at the Wawasee Fine Arts Festival sponsored by Chautauqua-Wawasee.
Mahnken has mastered the dual pane technique to create shadowing rarely seen in stained glass. While Mahnken creates commissioned stained glass pieces, her art is also available for purchase at her studio, stated the release.
Mahnken will also teach a Sold Out Beginner’s Stained Glass Workshop on Sept. 4, 11 and 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Syracuse Community Center.
