BOURBON — Mae Ruth Stills, 80, Tippecanoe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mae was born on Oct. 28, 1937, in Logan, W.Va., to Walter J. and Zeruah Bailey Edmiston. On Feb. 14, 1966, Mae became the bride of Vance Stills in a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio.

Mae was born in West Virginia and moved to Cleveland, where she met her husband. They eventually moved to Marshall County, living there since 1970.

Mae worked her entire life in the restaurant business including the Etna Green Café, Cozy Cottage, Riverbend Café (Maezees), Bourbon Family Restaurant, Big Western in Pierceton and VR Restaurant in Inwood, as well as many other restaurants in Marshall and Kosciusko counties. Mae’s greatest joy was her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Vance; her daughter, Kelly (Terry) Smith, Tippecanoe; and her two sons, Tommy (Ashley Stills), Warsaw, and Jeffrey (Devra) Stills, Tippecanoe; also surviving are her two sisters, Arminta McIntosh, Warsaw, and Annabelle (Donald) Justice, Parma, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mae was preceded in passing by her parents, one sister and three brothers.

A funeral service for Mae will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Cemetery.

A time of visiting with the Stills family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home.
