Students in Mrs. Walker's second-grade class at Madison Elementary School recently did an biography study on Tomie dePaola, a well-known author and illustrator. dePaola has written such books as 'The Art Lesson', 'The Clown of God', 'Strega Nona', 'Strego Nona Meets Her Match' and many others. The students watched an interview with dePaola and wrote letters to him. The children practiced summarizing books and placed their summaries in the hall for all to see. Pictured (L to R) are, front row: Gracie Compton, Omar Hernandez, Audrey Turley; standing: Ashley Irwin, Katie Swain, Peyton Cutler and Mick Stewart.
