Principal Tom Kline congratulates Kurt Benedict, who recently won Madison Elementary’s spelling bee. Benedict is in Mrs. Reichard’s sixth-grade class at Madison. His winning word was ‘mandate,’ and he will represent Madison in the county spelling bee at North Webster Elementary Jan. 31. The winner of that spelling bee will return to compete with the seventh- and eighth-graders for the championship Feb. 5. Abby Rucoi, sixth grade, and Hudson Bollinger, fifth grade, tied for the runner-up position.
