Madison Kindergartners Give To AWLThis is the ninth consecutive year Madison Elementary School teacher Amy Swihart and her students have donated pet food and supplies to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County for Christmas. “It’s our giveback for the holidays,” she said. Swihart teaches kindergarten instead of first grade this year, so the donors have gotten a little younger, but they all love the cats and dogs the same. After the donations were dropped off, the students and their parents were invited to enjoy dinner at McDonald’s. The shelter is at 3489 E. CR 100S, Pierceton, with a new shelter scheduled to open in the summer.
