Madison Helps 'Make A Change' For Haiti

Posted
Madison Elementary students, families and staff have been gathering up their change for a good cause.

A large jug has been placed in the office, and those who would like to donate can deposit their change to "make a change" in Haiti. One hundred percent of the donated money goes directly toward Haitian relief.

The jug was also available at the last home game at Madison, and all money made from the sale of popcorn went into that jug. A lot of people made donations that night.

Many classrooms at Madison Elementary School have a connection to the people in Haiti.

Every year students in the lower grades collect new toys, toothpaste, school supplies, etc. at Christmas, and Mrs. Neff, a third-grade teacher at Madison, delivers those items to Haiti with a group from her church.

Neff has an adopted son from Haiti, and his children attend Madison.

Mrs. Courtois, kindergarten teacher at Madison, is married to Frank, who is also from Haiti. Their son attends Madison.

These two gentlemen still have family in Haiti, and Frank is currently in Haiti helping with relief efforts.

Madison's school nurse, Mrs. Byall, went to Haiti a few days ago to help with relief. Other students and staff members have family traveling to Haiti, too.
