COLUMBIA CITY – Madelene Geneva Hively, 91, of Churubusco, and formerly of Thorncreek Township, Whitley County, died at 10:12 a.m. Feb. 23, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born July 19, 1920, in Whitley County, to Grover E. and Estella M. Shively Jagger. On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Allan Egolf, who died March 20, 1945. On April 19, 1947, she married Gerald J. Hively, who died July 12, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter; a son, Dennis L. (and spouse Darcy) Hively, Syracuse; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters. She also was preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Blue River Church of the Brethren, Columbia City, with Pastor Craig Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church. ***** Memorials may be made to the Blue River Church of the Brethren Missions or Deacon Fund.
