NORTH MANCHESTER – Mable E. Hicks, 91, Silver Lake, died at 3:15 a.m. Oct. 7, 2015, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Garrett, Ky., to William Wade Moore and Lura Stafford. She married Bert Hicks, who died May 17, 2004.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Irene Cole Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, Ky. She was an avid shopper. She loved spending time with her family.  She also loved to talk on the telephone and word search puzzles. She also had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Surviving are one son, David D. (and spouse Barbara) Hicks, North Manchester; two daughters, Lura Dean (and spouse Abe) Shepherd, Silver Lake, and Dodie (and spouse Tom) Clifton, Winter Garden, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Wade Moore II; and three sisters, Opal Bolin, and Grace and Glenna Moore.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastors Henry Arnett Jr. and William Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
