Mabel Ellen Truelove, 98, died June 11, 2014, at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake where she had resided the past several years. She was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Eel Township, Allen County, to Herbert and Sarah Hand Sage. On Nov. 29, 1933, in Avilla, she married Robert Merle Truelove, who preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1985. She graduated from Huntertown High School in 1933. She was a homemaker and past member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Kendallville. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, cooking and feeding the birds. Surviving are a son, Kevin Truelove, Winona Lake; a grandson, Robert Michael (and spouse Kelly) Truelove, Pacific, Mo.; a granddaughter, Molly Kathleen Truelove, Plano, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Jordan and Bryce Brewer. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Lynn Truelove in 1998; and four brothers: Arthur, Gerald, Warren and Russell Sage. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville, with Glenn Byers, chaplain at Grace Village, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery near Churubusco.
