NORTH MANCHESTER - Mabel Colleen Brown, 84, formerly of North Manchester, died at 1:10 p.m. March 4, 2010, in Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
She was born Aug. 16, 1925, in North Manchester, to John J. and Rhuea M. Roberts Heeter. On June 4, 1945, she married Rex W. Weitzel, who died April 17, 1962. On Nov. 16, 1968, she married Arden B. Metzger, who died May 29, 1994. On Nov. 18, 1995, she married Dale Brown, who died Oct. 10, 2008.
She was a homemaker; a 1943 graduate of Chester High School, North Manchester; and was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, North Manchester.
Surviving are five daughters: Sandra (and spouse Donald) Becker, Minden, Neb.; Becky (and spouse Frank) McClelland, Elkhart; Barbara (and spouse Roy) King, Freetown; Sheryl (and spouse Ned) Bowman, North Manchester; and Carol (and spouse Muncie) Hawks, Fancy Gap, Va.; a sister, Edna Landis, North Manchester; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with the Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
