COLUMBIA CITY – Lynn E. Kissinger, 76, of Columbia City, died at 9:25 a.m. Sept. 29, 2012, in his residence.
He was born May 13, 1936, in Fort Wayne, to Walter Olin and Viola May Solt Kissinger. On Aug. 23, 1958, in Fort Wayne, he married Judith L. Kissinger, who survives.
He graduated from South Side High School in 1954. He then earned an associate’s degree from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 17, 1958, and was discharged Oct. 12, 1960. He was a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Wayne for 38 years. In 1971 he and his family moved to the Kissinger family farm in Columbia City. He was a former member of Waynedale Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are five children: Phil Kissinger, Jeff (and spouse Lisa) Kissinger and Cindy (and spouse Jim) Cormany, all of Columbia City; Brad (and spouse Teresa) Kissinger, Kimmell; and Doug (and spouse Chris) Kissinger, Larwill; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Private services will be Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor David Arnold officiating. A committal service and burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
