BOURBON – Lyle J. Gephart, 84, longtime Bourbon resident, passed away Sept. 3, 2015, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a recent illness. He was born May 2, 1931, in Seward, Ohio, to Roy N. and Mabel Ruth Evers Gephart. On June 30, 1951, in Seward, he married Pearl Geraldine “Jerri” Mills, who survives. He was a resident of Bourbon since 1958. He graduated Lyons (Ohio) High School in 1949. He was a salesman for Hahn Systems, selling Senco products to RV and trailer factories throughout the area. He retired in 1999. He and his wife enjoyed their winters in The Villages in Florida for 10 years. He was an avid golfer and was always up for a game. He was a hard worker, remodeling several homes in the area; he loved to dance and he enjoyed visiting with people. He enjoyed his family, who will greatly miss him. They also attended the Country Church, Bourbon. Also surviving are two sons, Bruce (and spouse Terri) Gephart, Bourbon, and Bradley (and spouse Lisa) Gephart, Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren: Melissa (and spouse Seth) Ray, Nathan (and spouse Bobi) Gephart, Emily (and spouse Ryan) Sutter, Joshua Gephart, Grant Gephart, Blake Gephart and Travis Gephart; nine great-grandchildren and his brother, Larry (and spouse Paulette) Gephart, LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary; a sister, Jeannette Roth; and a brother, Leon Gephart. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Country Church, Ind. 331, Bourbon, with Pastor David Gould officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
