NAPPANEE - Lydia Mae Hochstetler, 91, of LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, died at 10:50 p.m. Jan 23, 2008, in her residence.

She was born Feb. 14, 1916, near Nappanee, to John C. and Sarah Hershberger Chupp. On Dec. 15, 1938, she married Herman M. Hochstetler, who died March 26, 2002.

She was a housewife and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are six daughters: Sharon Sue Borkholder, Hamilton, Mont.; Kathryn (and spouse Raymond) Schmucker, McClure, Pa.; Inez Marie (and spouse Olen Jr.) Christner, Shipshewana; Barbara Ann (and spouse Harvey) Kemp, Goshen; Rosetta (and spouse Floyd) Helmuth, Nappanee; Mary Lynn (and spouse Ronald) Miller, Bremen; a son, Homer (and spouse Connie) Hochstetler, Crete, Ill.; two brothers, William (and spouse Mary) Chupp, Bremen, and Edward (and spouse Alta) Chupp, Nappanee; a sister, Edna Schwartz, Nappanee; 45 grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, six sisters and two brothers.

Services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ronald Miller residence, 1184 E. 3rd Road, Bremen, with Bishop Eddie Ray Borkholder officiating and Home Ministries assisting. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.

Calling was after 3 p.m. Thursday and all day today at the Ronald Miller residence.
