COLUMBIA CITY - Luella M. Orr, 93, of Warsaw, died at 2:02 a.m. May 30, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, where she was admitted Oct. 19, 2009.
She was born June 30, 1916, in Thorncreek Township, to Frank H. and Frances Patty Walker. On Nov. 1, 1932, she married Darrell L. "Cuddy" Orr, who died Sept. 6, 1976.
She graduated from Columbia City High School.
In 1953, she moved to a farm in Whitley County from Kosciusko County. On Aug. 1, 1984, she moved to Ligonier, until June 2009 when she returned to Kosciusko County to live with her daughter.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia City and Whitley County DHIA for nine years testing dairy milk for farmers.
Surviving are a son, Keith D. Orr, Ligonier; a daughter, Karen (and spouse Jeff) Maggard, Warsaw; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Sturgill, Woodburn. She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a half brother.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Washington Union Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
