Lucy Arlene Morgan, 77, of Camden, Maine, died at 4:45 a.m. Feb. 27, 2011, in her residence under the care of hospice services.
She was born Oct. 5, 1933, in Warsaw, to Paul and Evelyn Wolfe, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Ball State Teachers College in 1955 after completing a degree in speech and hearing therapy. She taught special education, performed speech and hearing therapy and provided substitute teaching at several elementary schools in the Leesburg, Milford and Warsaw areas.
In 1955, she married J. Alan Morgan. The grandson of Zimmer founder, Justin O. Zimmer, and later president of the company, J. Alan was just a young business major at Ball State when he and Lucy wed, but with her strong support as a wife, executive first lady, mother and soul mate, he was able to focus on the family business with confidence, zest and success. It was a team effort.
Surviving are two children, Jeffrey (and spouse Christine) Morgan, Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Janet (and spouse Jim) Morgan Page, Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, Courtney (and spouse Jeremy) Walters and Sarah Hoffman, all of Warsaw, and Justin Morgan, Paradise Valley; seven great-grandchildren: Preslie, Bishop, Lex, Scarlett and Bristol Walters and London and Roman Hoffman, all of Warsaw; two in-laws, Nancy Williams (husband's sister), Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Jeane Wolfe (brother's spouse), Warsaw; four nephews: Christopher Williams, Riverside, Calif.; Chandler Williams, Warsaw; Cooper Williams, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and Adam Williams, Newport Beach, Calif.; and three nieces, Debbie and Candie Wolfe, both of Warsaw, and Ashley Rettig, Laguna Niguel, Calif.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Interment will be private in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
