CARBONDALE – Lucille Daniel Marshall, 93, died at 5:09 a.m. June 18, 2014, at her home at Liberty Village of Carbondale. She was born June 17, 1921, in Washington, D.C., the eldest daughter of Charles E. and Marcy Ashton Grymes Daniel. On Jan. 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to Matthew Dover Marshall, who preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1985. Left to carry on her legacy are five children: Patricia Medlin Guyon, and Barbara Marshall (and spouse William) Young, all of Carbondale; Mary Jane (and spouse Charles) Ploszek, Pierceton; Charles Scott Marshall, Marseilles, lll.; and Robert Grymes (and spouse Marnie) Marshall, Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marcy Elizabeth Fogel; and an infant grandson. Our mother enjoyed her new life in Carbondale, moving here in 2008. Her many friends at Liberty Village enhanced her days. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Carbondale, with The Very Rev. Kathryn Jeffrey officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.
