NORTH MANCHESTER – Lucille “Lucy” Reed, 93, died at 7:15 p.m. June 30, 2012, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Whitley County, to William Carl and Mary Iva Culp Overholser. On April 3, 1937, she married Harold E. Reed, who survives.
She worked at Mike’s Café for 19 years and later retired from Peabody Retirement Community in 1989. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene, North Manchester, where she served as pianist for many years.
Surviving are a son, Richard Eugene (and spouse Sheila) Reed, North Manchester; three daughters: Patricia (and spouse David) Brace, North Manchester; Sherry (and spouse Robert) Curtis, Greencastle; and Cindy (and spouse Steven) Royer, Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
