On Saturday at its monthly board meeting, the Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners unanimously voted in favor of supporting the Kosciusko County Sherriff’s Dept. Dive Team. The donation will be used to purchase the Hummingbird 360-degree imaging system. Speaking for the dive team, Cpl. Brandon Hepler said the system gives the operator a definite mark to deploy divers, which will be instrumental in searching for a drowning victim. In the case of an emergency, the dive team carries search equipment in their squad cars and serves 130 lakes, creating a unique response area. The six-member dive team was thrilled with the generosity of LTPO. LTPO President Jill Morrolf said, “We are proud to support the Kosciusko Dive Team. Over many years they have come to the rescue of drowning victims within our lakes community.” Hepler said, “The divers not only locate people, they have been known to save animals and reclaim personal items as well.” Pictured (L to R) are: Hepler, Morrolf, Deputy Don McCune and LTPO Vice President Jon Tyler.
