The first of two workshops offered for property owners in the Lakeland Regional Sewer District is set for Saturday. Beginning in early 2017, Lakeland Regional Sewer District property owners will be required to connect to the new sewer system. The project will eventually include about 1,700 connections. Property owners will need to hire contractors to add electrical service to the grinder pump and connection to the sewer pipe, as well as disconnecting and closing existing septic tanks. The workshops will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the North Webster Community Center. Another is set for Aug. 27 at the same location and time. Contractors and homeowners are encouraged to attend one of the meetings.
