Lorraine “Lori” B. Brownell, 83, Warsaw, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 6, 2014, in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center, Warsaw. She was born July 21, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Arthur and Anna Aahrens Andrew. On Sept. 25, 1966, in Virginia, she was united in marriage to Richard Brownell, who preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2011. She attended college in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she received her associate degree in nursing. She moved to Kosciusko County in 1975 where she was a homemaker and bred and groomed championship dogs, mainly Shepherds and Wheaton Terriers. She also enjoyed going to dog shows. She was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw. Surviving are two sons, Craig Thomas (and spouse Tonna) Metcalf and Gary John (and spouse Susan) Metcalf, Melbourne, Fla.; a niece, Judy Andrew, Spencer, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Allen Metcalf in March 2000; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Penny Andrew.
