Long Farms Donates To Cardinal Services

Posted
Long Farms Donates To Cardinal ServicesWhen Mike Long, of Long Family Farms, took a load of soybeans to be processed at Louis Dreyfus this fall, he told them to be sure to make the check out to Cardinal Services.

That load of soybeans brought $10,931, which Mike and his wife, Dara, presented recently to Interim CEO of Cardinal Services Jane Wear.

The Longs have designated their donation to Cardinal’s Direct Support Professional Wage Fund, to help support wages of employees providing direct support to the people Cardinal serves. The Long’s son, Isaac, lives in a Cardinal group home.

“Isaac’s DSPs do just wonderful work with him, making sure he’s engaged and doing things he likes to do” said Mike Long. “When we visit and see him so happy there with his staff, we understand first-hand how important their work is.”

Wear announced that the Long’s donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the AWS Foundation. The foundation has made a committment to match all donations to Cardinal’s DSP Wage Fund, dollar for dollar, up to $212,500, through the end of November 2021.
