Lola Jane Cain

BOURBON — Lola Jane Cain, 93, Bourbon, passed away Dec. 12, 2016, at Wampler’s Senior Living, Bourbon, where she had been a resident the past several months.
She was born June 13, 1923, to Forrest and Kathryn Faulkner in Gravelton. She graduated from Bourbon High School in 1941.  
She married Devon “Pete” Cain on Aug. 24, 1941, in Bloomington. Together the two would start a family that included son Steve and daughter Karen. Devon preceded her in 1988. 
She was a lifelong member of the United Pentecostal Church in Bourbon, where she was the pianist for 35 years and also sang in the choir. She rarely missed a church service or church event. Through the years she worked at Dillingham’s Grocery, Cumberland Pharmacy, Harmony Press and Country Cupboard and helped Pete on the farm.  She decorated cakes for many years and was a wonderful baker and was known for her famous sugar cookies. 
She enjoyed going to the alumni events at Bourbon High School and visiting with her classmates. 
She will be missed by her granddaughters, Kelli Anderson and Stefanie Anderson (spouse Tom), Sarasota, Fla.; grandson Doug Cain, Glasgow Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Jack and Emma; one great-great-grandson, Cain; and her daughter-in-law, Lou Cain, Glasgow. She is also survived by her extended family, Sheila Ulmer (spouse Jerry), Bobbi Kosins (spouse Eric), Traci McDavitt (spouse Ken) and Ashley Doll (spouse Joe). 
She was preceded by her husband, Devon; her children, Steve and Karen; a granddaughter, Christi; and her brother, Keith Faulkner. 
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Bourbon United Pentecostal Church, 201 North Bourbon St., Bourbon.
Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the church, with Pastor Mark Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Cemetery.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, was entrusted with the arrangements.
