MARION - Lois Juanita Scrafton, 92, Marion, died at 6 a.m. Oct. 2, 2008, in Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine.
She was born in Wallahalla, S.C., to the late Lavern and Annie Smith Vaughn. On Nov. 1, 1942, she married Joseph Scrafton, who survives.
She was an excellent homemaker, a loving mother and a faithful prayer warrior. Church was very important to Lois and she was a member of Converse Church of Christ. For many years she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Also surviving are two daughters, JoAnn (and spouse Richard) Helfrich, Auburn, and Jody (and spouse Ronald) Newhouse, Greentown; two sons, Joel (and spouse Teresa) Scrafton, Syracuse, and Mark (and spouse Michelle) Scrafton, Warsaw; nine grandchildren including Bethany (and spouse Micah) Young, Warsaw; Jared (and spouse Kendra) Scrafton, Silver Lake; Nicole Wills, Noelle Scrafton and Tanner Scrafton, all of Warsaw; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, with the Rev. Rob Schwarze officiating.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
