COLUMBIA CITY – Lois E. Sleighter, 95, Columbia City, passed away at 11:30 a.m. July 1, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 10, 1919, in Fort Wayne, to Thurman G. and Nellie I. Birtwhistle Busz. She was a resident of Pierceton her entire life until moving in with her daughter five years ago. She attended Monroe High School. She was a machine operator at Whitley Products, Pierceton, for 36 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Pierceton. Surviving are her daughter, Karen S. (and spouse Charles) Levitz, Columbia City; a sister, Ada Finken, Pierceton; and two grandsons, Charles IV and Barry Levitz. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
