NORTH MANCHESTER – Lois E. James, 69, North Manchester, went home to be with Jesus at 9 a.m. Jan. 14, 2014, in Wabash County Hospital.
She was born May 19, 1944, in Wabash County, to Laymond Lee Clark and Gladys Perry, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 17, 1963, she married William A. James, who died Dec. 11, 1997.
She was a homemaker and servant for the Lord. She was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Laketon High School class of 1962.
Surviving are a son, Frederick A. (and spouse Tina) James, Pierceton; four daughters: Deborah (and spouse Terry) Barrett, Liberty Mills; Diana Wood, North Manchester; Lori (and spouse James) Conley, Liberty Mills; and Lisa (and spouse Robert) Haupert, North Manchester; five sisters: Nanci Lou (and spouse Arthur) Moyers, Burlington, Iowa; Catherine Bettencourt and Mary Ann Coe, both of Wabash; and Miriam Linkenhoker and Laura Bradley, both of Ijamsville; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a stepson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114 W., North Manchester, with pastors Kelly Beutler and Erin Huiras officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday.
