Lois Ann Okun, 84, Warsaw, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Jan. 26, 2016, at Warsaw Meadows Health Care. She was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Benjamin and Sally Foreman Kathren. On Nov. 6, 1949, in Los Angeles, Calif., she married Samuel Okun, who passed away Feb. 5, 2008. She had been a resident of Kosciusko County for the past four years and was a homemaker. She graduated from high school in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1949. She volunteered at the Vancouver Fort on the Lewis & Clark Trail in Vancouver, Wash., and was a gifted oil and china painter. Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to serve others. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Wendy Christy, Warsaw; a son, Gary (and spouse Eva) Okun, Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren, Angela Christy, Warsaw, and Matthew Christy, Laramie, Wyo.; and her brother, Ronald (and spouse Susan) Kathren, Richland, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond; and her son-in-law, Ron Christy. A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
