COLUMBIA CITY – Lois A. Sheets, 71, of Columbia City, died at 5:45 a.m. Sept. 11, 2013, at Peabody Home, North Manchester, where she had been a resident since October 2012.
She was born April 11, 1942 in Sullivan County, to Cisco R. and Jeanette I. White May. On June 10, 1961, married Paul V. Sheets, who died Sept. 26, 2011.
They made their residence in Larwill for a short time before moving to Columbia City.
Her formative years were spent in Sullivan County. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1960.
She was employed at R.R. Donnelley and Da-Lite Screens in Warsaw, Alcoils, Chamberlin Products, Precision Plastics and Fibre Form.
Her memberships included Eagles #1906 Auxiliary and American Legion Post #98 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three children: Michael (and spouse Charlene) Sheets, Columbia City; Theresa Tucker, Columbia City; and Robert (and spouse Theresa) Sheets, Kimmell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Linda Carter, Columbia City; and Bonnie Fitzpatrick, Warsaw; and a brother, Danny May, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia Ann Sheets, and three sisters, Carol May, Alice Crawford and Rose Wall.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Eberhard Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
