Logan Irwin's 37-Point Night Leads Prep Roundup

    ROCHESTER — Fresh off winning the Beef O’Brady’s/American Trust Holiday Classic last week in Peru, the Whitko boys basketball team kept the good times rolling Friday night in Rochester.
    Playing a Three Rivers Conference road game, the Whitko Wildcats nabbed their third-straight win, defeating the Rochester Zebras 55-36.
    Senior Logan Irwin led the Wildcats’ attack, with 37 points, helping his squad improve to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the TRC.
    Along with Logan Irwin’s production, his sophomore brother, Keaton Irwin, scored seven, with junior Gabe Powell chipping in four.
    The Wildcats are back in action today at Lebanon High School.

The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped Friday at Northfield, falling 40-34 in Three Rivers Conference action. Northfield senior Chad Glasscock scored a game-high 18 points, while Valley was led by senior Jeffrey Tillman, who scored 13 points. The 6-3 (1-1 TRC) Tippecanoe Valley Vikings host Plymouth tonight.

The Manchester boys basketball team came two points shy of winning its third-straight game Friday night at home. Hosting the North Miami Warriors, the Manchester Squires were there until the end, but came out on the short end of a 44-43 score. In the loss, sophomore Clayton Petrie led the way with 15 points, while seniors Connor McLaughlin and Logan Brunn scored 11 and 10, respectively. The 2-7 (0-2 TRC) Squires are back in TRC play Friday at Wabash.

Hitting the road for a Northern State Conference game Friday night, the Class 1A No. 5 Triton girls basketball team got a 40-27 win at John Glenn. Ending a three-game losing streak, the Triton Lady Trojans were led by Shana Anderson’s 11 points and Megan Howdeshell’s 10 points and nine rebounds. The 9-3 (3-0 NSC) Lady Trojans host New Prairie Tuesday in another NSC clash.
