Lockes Attend Growing Our Faith By The Water At Lake Wawasee

Posted

This past Sunday my wife and I had the opportunity to attend Growing Our Faith By The Water at Lake Wawasee.
We sat near the water by Oakwood Resort and even though it was cloudy there were times when the sunlight shimmered on the water. Boats were all gathered around the S.S. Lillypad as we prepared to worship. Services are on Lake Wawasee from Memorial Day to Labor Day beginning at 8:30 a.m. and sponsored by area churches through the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association.
A slight breeze blew by as the sounds of gospel music, scripture reading, prayer and a message was presented. We were challenged by the verses from Luke 5:4-6 where Simon (Peter) was told by Jesus to go back out with the nets even though they had fished all night and caught nothing. He followed the commands of the Master and caught so many fish the nets began to break.
The speaker, Saul Sauceda, said something that challenged my heart, “There is a great harvest coming! We are called to be faithful and listen to God’s voice in this age. Let’s keep putting out the nets and calling people to come in these last days!” Thank you, SWMA, for creatively sharing the Word and may we be challenged to tell others the Good News of Jesus!
