A day after bowling the first 300 of her career, Breanna Kiser joked that the hardest thing about accomplishing the feat was convincing her dad it happened. “My first reaction was to call my dad, I knew he'd be excited,” said Kiser. “First I texted him the picture (of the scoring monitor) and he didn't believe it was me that did it.” Kiser, a 17-year-old junior at Warsaw Community High School, did in fact roll a 300 Tuesday afternoon at The Bowling Alley on North Detroit Street in Warsaw. Kiser's boyfriend, Derek Beckler, and local bowling standout and WCHS boys coach Glen Ransbottom witnessed her 10-frame perfection. “I didn't believe her at first, I thought she was just joking around,” said Andy Kiser, who has coached his daughter the past two seasons on the WCHS girls team. “And then her boyfriend texted me and said he saw it, and Glen said it was true.” Prior to Tuesday, Breanna's career-high game was a 259, which she bowled on Sunday. She rolled her first perfect game on Lane 1 at The Bowling Alley while bowling a makeup game for her Saturday Morning Junior/Senior League. Because of the high school season, which recently ended, Breanna said she was about eight weeks behind in the Saturday morning league. She was back on the lanes Wednesday afternoon, bowling another makeup session – only this time as just the second female in city history with a perfect game on her resumé and just the first to do it in Warsaw. Leigha Lindsey became the first female bowler in city history to roll a perfect game last year when she did it in a tournament in Valparaiso. “Three years ago when she started bowling as a freshman, I wouldn't have guessed she'd accomplish the things she has,” said Andy, who has rolled 13 perfect games in his career. “She bowled in a league one year when she was 8 or 9 years old, and other than that, only bowled in gym class. She's come a long way.” She sure has, and now she's part of the only father/daughter duo in city history to have bowled a 300. There are only a handful of father/son duos who have accomplished the feat. Breanna's perfect game Tuesday came in the first of three games. Counting two practice balls, her first game, and the first five frames of her second game, she rolled 17 consecutive strikes. “Obviously I was paying attention, but I didn't really think about it until the last ball of the 10th frame,” said Breanna. “When I threw the last strike, I was like ‘did this really happen?’”
