Tyler Petty, Kosciusko County's representative to the regional spelling bee Saturday in Fort Wayne, came in fourth out of 17 contestants.
A homeschooler from Warsaw and the son of Gordon and Kirsten Petty, the sixth-grader lost on the word "ricotta," his mother said today.
As one of the top ten competitors, Petty won a prize of a Nintendo Game Boy.
