PLAINFIELD - Kosciusko County was well represented by the officers sent for training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
During Friday's graduation, which culminated 12 weeks of training, Deputy Chris McKeand of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department came out number one academically in the class of 157. Patrolman Greg Oberlin of the Warsaw Police Department finished second.
Also receiving recognition was Patrolman Scott Whitaker of the Warsaw Police Department, who was named an honor graduate. Only 15 members of the class earned the distinction, which requires placing at 60 percent or higher in all aspects of the training.
McKeand, Oberlin and Whitaker, as well as Deputy Matt Rapp of KCSD and Deputy Marshal Darrell Sopher of the North Webster Police Department, are now on duty with their respective departments.
