Roadwork Affects Three Streets In Warsaw

The City of Warsaw Department of Public Works will be milling various streets today. The following streets will remain open, but expect temporary delays throughout the day:

• Columbia Street under the railroad viaduct

• Park Avenue at Ross Avenue

• Sunset Drive south of the bridge



INDOT?Road Repairs To Begin Wednesday

FORT WAYNE – Several road repair projects are scheduled to begin on or after Wednesday, weather permitting, in Kosciusko and Elkhart counties, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation press release.

The projects are located at:

• Ind. 13 between Ind. 14 and the south side of Pierceton.

• Ind. 19 between CR 1350N in Kosciusko County and CR 50 in Elkhart County.

• U.S. 6 between North Tomahawk Trail, (CR 101) west of Nappanee to the Berlin Court Ditch east of Nappanee in Elkhart County.

• Ind. 13 between CR 46 south of Millersburg to Ind. 4 south of Middlebury in Elkhart County.

• Ind. 13, between U.S. 20 through Middlebury to south of Yoder Drive, in Elkhart County.



DUI Roving Patrols, Checkpoints To Be Set Up Around The County Saturday

Kosciusko County’s DUI Taskforce announced it will have roving patrols and sobriety checkpoints between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday.

Agencies participating on the task force are Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, and police departments in Mentone, Milford, Silver Lake, Syracuse, Warsaw and Winona Lake.

“DUI: Taskforce Indiana” is a year-long statewide project aimed at reducing alcohol-related crashes, deaths and injuries.  With the increase in traffic, the DUI Taskforce is committed to making the roads safer by their increased presence and DUI enforcement in Kosciusko County.

Valley FFA Hosting Fish, Tenderloin Fry

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley FFA will host an all-you-can-eat fish and tenderloin fry in the Tippecanoe Valley High School commons from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Adult presale tickets are $9, and children are $6.

At the door, adults are $10 and children are $7.



Fruit And Nut Sale Deadline Is Oct. 5

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is taking orders for the annual fruit and nut sale.

Several varieties of nuts are available, plus some dried fruits and candies. Order forms are available from any Auxiliary member or the Salvation Army office, or call 574-267-5361 or 574-268-7195. To download an order form, visit www.sawarsaw.org.

Deadline to turn in order forms is Oct. 5. Payment is due at the time of the order.

Orders will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 15-16 at the Center Lake Pavilion.

Proceeds from the sale fund many of the social service activities provided by The Salvation Army, such as Kid’s Club and School Shoes.

All proceeds are used in Kosciusko County.
