The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department currently is investigating a large-scale home improvement fraud case involving a Kosciusko County man.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Detective Josh Spangle has filed charges with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office against Matthew William Trier, 42, no address available.Police believe Trier, who has been operating a home improvement business under the name of Warsaw Builders, has committed fraud against at least nine different victims in 2008.
Spangle advised that several of the victims also filed complaints with the Indiana Attorney General's Office as well as the Better Business Bureau of Northeastern Indiana.
Losses for victims involved in these incidents have exceeded $23,000.
Spangle stated that there could possibly be more victims in the county that have not been reported their loss to the agency.
He also noted that Trier has provided five different addresses to victims, two of which do not legally exist.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department is asking residents to report any such fraudulent acts to the department.
