Girls Basketball 

Northridge at Warsaw 

Warsaw didn’t get the offensive performance it’s used to, but the team was still able to come away with a 43-32 win over rival Northridge on Saturday night, The Lady Tigers are now 18-1 this season, 4-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference. 

Joslyn Bricker put the team on her back in the win, scoring 28 points on 11-19 shooting. Reagan Huss had a great game against her former team, scoring eight points while making the only two three pointers for the team in the win. 

Warsaw is back in action Wednesday against Mishawaka. 

Jimtown at Tippecanoe Valley 

Tippecanoe Valley earned at least a share of the Indiana Northern State Conference title on Saturday night, defeating Jimtown 50-15. The Lady Vikings are now 12-4 this winter, 4-1 in the Indiana Northern State Conference. 

No statistics were available for the game. Valley is on the road at North Miami Wednesday. 

Wawasee at NorthWood

Wawasee dropped a low-scoring game on Saturday, falling 30-20 on the road to NorthWood. The Lady Warriors are now 5-10 this season, 1-4 in the NLC. 

Addison Barger led the team with eleven points. 

Wawasee travels to Columbia City on Tuesday. 

Rochester at Whitko 

Whitko kept it rolling with a 51-29 win over Rochester on Saturday afternoon. The Lady ‘Cats improved to 14-1 this winter, 5-0 in the Three Rivers Conference. 

Ally Brown led the team with 16 points. Reese Stonebraker added nine, while her sister Jayma had eight. 

Whitko is at Northwestern on Monday. 

Manchester at Mississinewa 

Manchester picked up its 10th win of the season on Friday night, defeating Mississinewa 44-25 on the road. The Lady Squires are now 10-6 this winter. 

Ava Sautter led the team with 10 points, while Olivia Stevens scored nine. Emma Walker led the team with eight rebounds. 

Manchester hosts Peru on Tuesday. 

Boys Basketball 

Tippecanoe Valley at Bremen

Tippecanoe Valley dropped its conference opener on Friday night, falling 61-37 to Bremen. The Vikings are now 4-7 this season, 0-1 in the INSC. 

No statistics were available from the game. Valley travels to Jimtown on Friday. 

Prairie Heights at Wawasee 

Wawasee got back into the win column on Saturday night, defeating Prairie Heights 43-38 at home. The Warriors are now 9-4 this winter. 

Stephen Akase led the team with 18 points, while Jack Shoemaker added nine. Nolan Holzwart scored eight. 

Wawasee hosts Mishawaka on Friday. 

Whitko at Lakewood Park Christian 

Whitko picked up a nonconference win on Saturday night, defeating Lakewood Park Christian 63-56 on the road. The Wildcats are now 5-6 this season. 

Caden Deneve had 14 points to lead the team, while Chandler Cox and Daton Day each had eleven. 

Whitko is at Southwood on Friday. 

Triton at Kouts 

Triton dropped just its second game of the season on Friday night, falling 65-50 to Kouts on the road. The Trojans are now 7-2 this winter. 

Julian Swanson led the team with 17 points. Landon Patrick added eleven. 

Triton is at John Glenn on Tuesday. 

Girls Wrestling 

Warsaw at Regional 

For the second straight year, Warsaw senior Mariana Castro qualified for the state championship meet in girls wrestling. 

Castro dominated the first two rounds of Regionals with a first period pin and an 8-1 decision. She lost in the third round, but moved on to the placement round. 

In the placement round Castro defeated Hobart with a second period win by pin to place 3rd.

Boys Wrestling

Warsaw at East Noble Invite 

Warsaw Wrestling earned the team championship at the East Noble Invitational on Saturday.

The Tigers’ depth propelled them to success as they got placement points from all 14 weights and only 1 champion.

Liam Smith went 4-0 at 190 pounds to lead the scoring for Warsaw.

Gabe Veit (126) and Ivahn Martinez (113) were also finalists for the Tigers. Both went 2-1 to take 2nd place.

Nick Rautenberg (150) and Owen Corbin (285) went 3-1 to take third place. Zander Moore (157) and Enrique Silva (165) had an extra win on their paths to third place finishes at 4-1.

Fourth place finishers for Warsaw included Tristan Wood (106), Ethan Crawford (113), KC Smith (138), and Matt Flores (175). 

Warsaw’s other place winners were Alex Vallejo (120), Leo Castro (144), and Aydin Cook (215)  at 5th, and Nolan Stump (132) at 6th.

The Tigers will head to Northwood for the NLC tournament next weekend.
