Local National Day of Prayer organizer Bambi Wilson, Warsaw, said personal experience with the power of prayer is what got her involved with the event.
"I, because of the circumstances of my life, have realized the importance of prayer," Wilson said. "I found a group that was praying together on a weekly basis and this kind of evolved from that group."
Wilson said the Day of Prayer is a chance for the community to come together and talk to God.
"We need God's guidance in every aspect of our lives," she said. "As a nation, we need to seek God's leading in our national as well as personal affairs. This is just a reminder that we do need his guidance and leadership."
The program will run from noon until 1 p.m. The public is welcome to attend for all, or part, of the program. Those who attend will receive a "7x7 Prayer Guide" to help them continue to pray for America throughout the year. 7x7 involves praying for seven centers of power seven days a week.
